ANN DRAISEY is a local girl; born in Exeter, and very pleased to be back home in Devon after finishing a degree in History of Art at Edinburgh University earlier this year. She specialised in medieval art, and has been enjoying all the artistic treats that Holy Cross has to offer!
Although she did not study music at university, music has always been a very important part of her life. Both her parents are very musical – her mum is an oboe and piano teacher and both her mum and dad run local choirs. Ann has always spent a lot of time singing in various choirs, from the church choir in St David’s church Exeter to the choirs at Exeter College and more recently with Cadenza, one of the leading mixed-voice chamber choirs in Edinburgh. Back in Devon Ann sings in Nota Bene, a one-to-a-part madrigal group, and she has recently joined the St David’s Singers, run by Mark Perry. Ann also enjoys playing the piano in her spare time, as well as pursuing other interests in art, crafts and cinema.
